Just found this tip in this post of the German blog of ProjectWizards. It mentions a new approach called  21 Ways to Excel at Project Management as described on the British site ProjectSmart.

The 21 points check list provides a base for the project manager. It can help to develop or refine PM skills but more important to avoid errors for a successful project management:
