Hi, this is me Perri…
I know, I know, I should not judge a book by its cover. I should first proof its content and the correctness of the provided information. Yes of course, but to be honest, how high are the chances not to loose concentration when reading a long text having no layout at all? Not that high, not really…
What I am trying to say is, some things become easier to work with, if you have a chance to customize them as you like. Take the color of the text in the outline for example. Per default all activities are colored in black, but why not adapting their color to this of the according Gantt bar? I mean an activity in red status should display its text in outline in red, a yellow status activity in yellow, a blue in blue and a green in green. Let me place a screenshot to make my point clear.
Do you see it to? Isn’t it very practical?  The coloring helps me  working on long projects and see at one glance their status. How have I done it? There was nothing to it. I have simply called the ‘View Options’, switched to the ‘Styles’ pane, selected the according flag entry in the ‘Condition’ pop up, clicked on the ‘Kick-off’ element on the left side of the sample area and customized the ‘Foreground Color’.
Easy and efficient. Isn’t beautiful? 😉
