Merlin was recommended to us as alternative to MS Project on the mac. From what we see on your webpage, we like it very much. Can we purchase the web sharing option and use only your web based solution?
Please note that web sharing is a complementary option for your Merlin application. This means you need to purchase also a Merlin license and install it along with your web sharing license:
If you license your Merlin for Mac OS X appropriately you can than create your projects in the Mac OS X application and share them for web access.
Let the Merlin application running and having the project open as long as want to have it accessible. Even if you decide to work with your project solely over the web browser, don’t quit Merlin or let the mac fall into standby mode.

Hi there,
See that the Merlin Server only allows 10 concurrent users?
Does that mean i can have all 20 users in my outfit to be on Merlin, but only 10 are allowed to access it at one time?
For 20 concurrent connections you will need 2 Merlin Server licenses of 10 user each. These 20 concurrent connections could be 20 users accessing 20 projects (1 project each user), or all 20 users accessing the same project, or 10 users accessing 10 projects and other 10 accessing a single one, etc…
Thank you for your comment 🙂
Hi, I had the occasion to use Merlin a few years ago, and loved it.
But it was before we all jumped in the cloud for everything we do (CRM, docs, email… I still need Keynote, but that’s really it)
I’m currently shopping for a collaborative project manager for a team of around 10 permanent + a lot of
I’m sad to see that you don’t have a SaaS option yet… depending on a desktop application for creating a project, and the obligation to let the Merlin application run in order to access the project is a impossible barrier for us.
But I’m confident you’ll have something coming in the future, as you surely can’t miss the move toward SaaS in collaborative software. Please inform me as soon as you have an hosted web app up and running!
Thanks for your comment, Julien.
Currently our strategy is to save everything related to projects on your (= the users) machines. This is because we strongly believe security is super important in the PM business. Of course, there are some projects where it is not that important, but when it comes to security you can build on Merlin.
