We all know that you can link activities and create various kinds of dependencies between them in Merlin to express the flow of your activities through out your project. We often get asked in support how to define a lead or a lag on such dependencies.
Nothing more simple than that…
You simply click onto the linkage line as shown in the Gantt chart between the activities, switch to the inspector and enter there the desired lead or lag value.
day vs eday…
- If you need 1 working day between activities, enter 1 day. Merlin will consider the defined working days and hours in the project calendar and will push the successor activity accordingly. (task A > task B)
- If you need 1 day between activities, enter 1 eday. Merlin will push the successor in the next working day of the successor activity. (task C > task D)
- 1 eday is 1 real day when successor activity is a milestone. In this case the milestone can be planed on a non working day (task E > milestone).
- 1 eday is 1 real day when successor’s activity is having a 24 hours  calendar (task F > task G) .
