Macworld expo

Macworld Expo kicked off today and even though Merlin is not presented in a booth our CEO, Frank Blome, is very busy in San Francisco taking with PMs from all over the world and doing last minute preparations for the Merlin co-sponsored ‘Cirque du Mac’ party.

We have read Jeff Gamlet’s post at the Mac Observer about the importance or unimportance of Apple’s absence at the conference. The author points out that:

Macworld Expo is about interacting with your colleagues, friends, session instructors and the companies that make the products we buy.

So it is an Expo for consumers and a special event for everyone taking place.

That’s all very nice and cool, but what we find most interesting is  your opinion.

How important is Apple’s presence for you and how does it influence your decision whether to visit the expo or not?

Cirque du Mac, Are you invited?

Merlin is co-sponsoring ‘Cirque du Mac’. One of the best parties at Macworld

cirque du mac 7.0

…with real Mac people playing real live music, roaming clowns, tattoo artists and a Videator-powered light.  Fancy a peek of previous years? Sure,  there are plenty of videos available in the internet. Check here, here or here.

You cannot buy any tickets for this cult party. You may enter your ticket request online though and if it gets accepted you will receive an email.

Do you feel lucky? Join the mac observer’s Cirque du Mac 7.0 contest and hopefully win a pair of tickets.

You consider entering your ticket request and wait? We recommend you should try both ways!

Good luck!

Hello 2010, bye bye 2009!

One lays a bit longer in bed at Christmas, and finds the new year already in full swing when awaking. But wait. Our hibernation was not that deep, we simply granted ourselves a short break. 2009 was after all the most active year in our young history.

Directly on its begin, January 2009, we were in the Macworld and presented Merlin iPhone to the interested visitors.

In February 2009 the beta test of Merlin 2.7 started containing the new version of Merlin Web. A Merlin Twitter presence was also created, with over 750 followers meanwhile.

Dave Prior: PM combining the best of two worlds

Richard Joerges, our colleague from the German blog, had the chance talking with Dave Prior and wrote a very interesting post here.

In case you happen not to know Dave Prior already, Dave is a PM for the past 15 years and has been volunteering for PMI since 2002. He has been on the board of the IT&T SIG since 2003 and was the Chair during 2008. Now serving out his term as Past Chair, Dave is also senior consultant at Valtech in the Transformation Services group – which helps companies who want to migrate to Agile.
