Time Track Pro breaks Merlin

We had a couple of mysterious reports informing us that Merlin freezes whenever Merlin users would edit the project’s start date using the date picker. Up until know we weren’t able to reproduce this effect on our macs, and sampling Merlin’s processes at that moment would not show anything abnormal. After comparing the support profiles of those Merlin users we are now finally able to point out the reason; Time Tracking with Time Track Pro. It somehow manages to freeze Merlin. We have googled a bit for similar symptoms and found some issues with Photoshop CS5. We have reported this effect with Merlin to Bloop and hopefully there will be a fix provided in a future update. Merlin: Planning activities

Merlin is very flexible. It allows to plan activities for accomplishing your project in various ways. In this post we will show 5 ways resulting from the following 5 situations:

  1. The activity should start on project initiation and there is an estimation about the needed work.
  2. The activity should start just after a previous activity is done and  there is an estimation about the needed work.
  3. There is an estimation about the needed work and a fixed duration within this work should be accomplished.
  4. The activity should start on a specific date and  there is an estimation about the needed work.
  5. The activity should start and end on specific dates.
